What are the main elements of the Syntec collective agreement?

The Syntec collective agreement is one of the collective agreements that gathers the most employees. It applies to companies operating in the fields of information technology, engineering, events, and translation, aiming to provide more favorable conditions for employees. Discover in this article the main elements of the Syntec collective agreement.

What is the Syntec collective agreement?

First, a collective agreement is a written agreement concluded between one or more employers or employers' trade unions and trade unions. Serving to complement the rules of labor law, it adapts the working conditions to the specific situations of a particular sector.

The Syntec collective agreement or CCN Syntec defines the set of rules applicable to the working conditions of employees in technical study offices, engineering consulting firms, and consulting companies. This agreement aims to create more favorable provisions for certain categories of employees that are not covered by labor law.

Note that portage salarial no longer applies the Syntec collective agreement, as it now has its own collective agreement.

Who is covered by the Syntec collective agreement?

Companies operating in the following sectors are covered by the Syntec collective agreement:

Information Technology: video game publishers, application software publishers, IT consultants, internet portals, computer programmers, etc.

The Syntec employment contract must necessarily mention the following information:

Job title

Duration of the contract

Duration of the probation period

Date of entry into the company

Syntec classification: ETAM (employees, technicians, supervisory agents), executives or engineers

Holidays in the Syntec collective agreement

The Syntec collective agreement offers numerous advantages in terms of holidays. In addition to the 25 days of paid leave that employees have, they benefit from additional rest days:

Holidays based on seniority: one day every 5 years, for 20 years.

Paid leave for personal and exceptional absence.

Syntec RTT: reduction of working time on hours worked between 35h and 38h30.

Additional holidays if the company requires that part of the first 4 weeks of leave not be included in the period from May 1st to October 31st. One day of leave if the number of days taken outside the period is 3 or 4 days and 2 days of leave if the number is greater than 4 days.

Working time according to the Syntec collective agreement

Syntec employees are generally subject to a weekly working time of 35 hours. However, the Syntec collective agreement allows for adjustments to working hours.

Syntec day package

The day package is a duration of work for the employee counted in days over the year. The employee is therefore paid based on the number of days worked and not the number of hours. This allows the employer to avoid paying for overtime.

Not all Syntec employees benefit from the day package. Only executives with a certain autonomy in organizing their schedule and autonomous employees can conclude an individual day package agreement. Therefore, one of the following conditions must be met:

Be at least at position 3 of the Syntec executives classification grid.

Receive an annual remuneration greater than 2 times the PASS, which is €94,200 in 2025.

Be a corporate officer.

Annual contingent

Employees can work overtime, but it is limited. The annual contingent is set at:

130 overtime hours for ETAM

220 overtime hours for executives

Overtime hours are increased by:

25% for the first eight overtime hours worked in the same week

50% for subsequent hours

Illness and accidents in the Syntec collective agreement

The Syntec collective agreement provides compensation for employees in case of sick leave. The amount varies depending on the employee's seniority and classification.
